Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nested Cognition LLC collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use Sapiens Guide. It also identifies the third-party AI, speech, analytics, authentication, and infrastructure providers that may process information for the features you choose to use.

What SapiensGuide does

Sapiens Guide provides AI-supported chat, voice, retrieval, memory, knowledge-vault, calendar, family, reflection, and guidance features. It is designed as a bounded tool, not as medical, legal, financial, mental-health, emergency, or other professional advice.

Information we collect and how

Waitlist and beta information: email address, signup timestamp, invite status, and messages you choose to send us.

Account information: information you provide or receive from a sign-in provider, including name, email address, account identifiers, authentication records, and support messages.

Content you choose to provide: prompts, conversations, voice audio and transcripts, profile answers, age, roles, household and relationship context, values, goals, boundaries, health or wellbeing context, financial context, religious or philosophical beliefs, feedback, family messages, knowledge-vault content, and files or notes you add.

Memory and personalization information: conversation summaries, preferences, prior context, and other information you ask Sapiens Guide to carry across sessions when memory is enabled.

Connected-service information: Google or Apple Calendar metadata, event details, availability, attendees, meeting links, reminders, and related scheduling fields when you authorize a connected calendar feature.

Technical and security information: user, session, installation, and device identifiers; device model; browser; app version; locale; timezone; notification token; and request, error, performance, abuse-prevention, and security records collected automatically when you use the service.

How we use information

We use information to manage waitlist and beta access; authenticate accounts; provide chat, voice, retrieval, memory, personalization, family, knowledge-vault, calendar, notification, and support features; generate and format responses; secure and operate the service; prevent abuse; troubleshoot failures; comply with law; and honor access, correction, export, and deletion requests.

Optional product analytics: analytics is off by default. If you turn it on, PostHog receives product-interaction events and limited technical app and device information. We configure analytics not to include prompts, conversations, voice, profile answers, memory, knowledge-vault content, family messages, or calendar content.

We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, use calendar data for advertising or credit decisions, or train public AI models on the personal information you submit.

AI, retrieval, voice, and realtime providers

After you grant the in-app AI data-sharing permission, information needed for a request may be sent through Nested Cognition's servers to the AI, retrieval, and speech providers we use: OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, Voyage AI, and ElevenLabs.

The provider used depends on the feature and system configuration. Not every provider receives every request, and providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform the requested function.

We use commercial API services and do not authorize providers to use your submitted content to train public AI models. Provider systems may temporarily retain request data to deliver a feature, maintain security, prevent abuse, or comply with law. Retention varies by service, endpoint, and the data controls available under our provider agreements.

You can decline before any AI feature data is sent, and you can withdraw permission at any time in Settings. Because every Sapiens Guide feature depends on AI processing, declining or withdrawing returns you to this choice instead of leaving a partly working app, and you can grant permission again whenever you want. Your account and saved content are not deleted either way.

Connected services and infrastructure

We use Amazon Web Services and Supabase for infrastructure, storage, databases, and service operations; Langfuse for privacy-limited AI operations telemetry with prompt and response payload capture disabled; Apple and Google for authentication and connected calendar features you authorize; and PostHog only when you opt into optional product analytics.

If Sapiens Guide accesses Google user data, access is limited to the permissions needed for the feature you enable. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.

Service-provider protections

We require service providers to maintain privacy and security protections that are the same as or equivalent to those described in this policy and to process personal information only to provide contracted services to Nested Cognition, subject to applicable law.

We do not authorize providers to sell your personal information or use it for their own advertising. Human access is limited to support you request, security or abuse investigations, legal obligations, and tightly controlled service operations.

Storage, security, and retention

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. Authentication protects user-scoped access, and app credentials are stored in Apple Keychain.

We generally retain account, profile, conversation, memory, family, knowledge-vault, and connected-service information while your account is active or until you delete it. Shorter-lived audio and temporary processing files are removed after processing according to operational schedules. Security, fraud-prevention, legal, and backup records may remain for the limited period required for those purposes.

When you delete your account in Settings or make a verified deletion request, we remove personal information from active systems and allow protected backups to expire under their normal rotation schedule, unless law or a security obligation requires limited retention.

Your choices

You can decline or withdraw AI data-sharing permission, keep optional analytics off, disable cross-session memory, disconnect connected calendars, sign out, or delete your account and data from Settings.

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion by contacting help@nestedcognition.ai. You may also revoke Google access in your Google Account. After access is revoked, we stop requesting new Google data and delete stored Google data except for limited security, legal, or backup retention described above.

Children and households

SapiensGuide is designed for household use and parenting support, but children should use it only with parent or guardian involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent.
